There’s a lot rubbish written about leadership that it’s hard to really know what’s what. Far better to look to your experience, role models, positive and negative. When leadership is good it’s really good. And when it’s bad it’s godawful. My own best moments as a leader were when I didn’t have a formal leadership title, I wasn’t anyone’s boss, but I had to lead people through some kind of change. My worst was when I was given some people I didn’t particularly rate and ended up doing their jobs as well.
I think your comment about people choosing to work with you is spot on- I think it's something other leaders joining Launchpad from corporates struggle with- you can't just tell people what to do, you can't push through stuff for the greater good :- people can leave and they will
Totally right, no handcuffs here - and tbh I suspect even those corporate handcuffs are getting weaker by the day. They make us lazy and as a consequence our people give much less than both they and we want.
Applauding very loudly from RG29 xxxx
Thank you...I was going to use another sailing metaphor but I'm all out

Thanks for signing up Tom, you're doing a phased corporate escapology act! Hope you're still having fun.
