This week I took a couple of my kids down to Dartmouth in Devon. My wife’s uncle lives there and I worked out I’d probably visited close to 100 times since my wife and I have been together. I know the place so well I could probably walk around blind-folded.
Great post Adam. Perspective is everything. For me it came with time. I notice with my teenagers that they worry about things, that in the grand scheme of things don’t matter at all, but it’s hard for them to see without someone else’s perspective to point it out.
That is so true - I'm always thinking "why worry about that?" about wife, children, colleagues etc - but when you're in it, it's hard to see the proverbial wood. That said I've been in the trees myself a lot lately, so i'm as guilty. that's why an enforced break is a good thing!
